Faith

Perhaps it was the uncertainty of war, but faith was an important element of 1940s life, thus perhaps it is not a surprise that Harry & Edna are religious kinda folks.

Indeed Harry & Edna have reflected the importance of the Church in 1940s life in a number of their
re-enactment impressions.

For example their
Victory in the Garden impression can include a harvest festival as part of their active scenarios.

Edna's
Wartime Christmas presentation has also been used as a method of outreach. Especially as church buildings are such a lovely setting for a nostalgic journey back to the 1940s.

Holding events in a church demystifies the building to 'non church' attending visitors, provides an opportunity to promote future events such as carol concerts / Christmas services & approach new visitors.

Faith also played a role when they curated the 1940s area of the
Vintage at Goodwood festival as they managed to recruit the local Baptist church to perform a harvest festival service.

Harry & Edna donate 10% of their time free of charge to Christian outreach either through performing or via their
event operations / services.
