During the war the Victory Garden was the name given to gardens which had been turned into vegetables patches. Harry & Edna have created a transportable 'Victory in the Garden' display to portray their 'Victory in the Garden' scenario. Their impression recalls the daily effort in keeping

the dinner table supplied with meals; 'Edna' explains how our grandmothers devised frugal wartime recipes, while Harry works in the Victory Garden growing the essential vegetables if Britain is not to starve. To complement the display Harry and Edna perform a 20 minute scenario with Edna the Land Girl giving a practical dimension to Harry's 'show and tell' talk based on wartime farming.
 
To Harry although Hitler is enemy number one, to the wartime gardener it is the pigeon who is most definitely enemy number 2. Indeed the atmosphere in the allotment becomes tense when Harry and a pigeon come face to face. Edna a skilled horse woman has also performed at farm museums working heavy horses. Harry & Edna also performed at the Imperial War Museum's Victory Garden.
