Harry & Edna's 'Dig For Victory' impression recalls the daily effort in keeping the dinner table supplied with meals; 'Edna' explains how our grandmothers devised frugal wartime recipes, while Harry works in the Victory Garden growing the essential vegetables if Britain is not to starve.
To complement the display Harry and Edna perform a 20 minute scenario with Edna the Land Girl giving a practical dimension to Harry's 'show and tell' talk based on wartime farming.
To Harry although Hitler is enemy number one, to the wartime Victory Gardener & farmer it is the pigeon who is most definitely enemy number 2. Indeed the atmosphere in the allotment becomes tense when Harry and a pigeon come face to face.
Edna a skilled horse woman has also performed at farm museums working heavy horses. Harry & Edna also performed at the Royal Parks / Imperial War Museum War on Waste Victory Garden.
