We both have a huge interest in 20th Century social / military history and enjoy sharing our passion.

We have public liability insurance and can provide references. We are proud of our client list and have been employed by national museums, schools, living history events and television companies.

We like to mix facts and a little humour into our impressions which has proved a popular mix with event organisers. We use the term 'edutainment' to describe our portrayed blend of social and military history.

When performing we use the names of Harry and Edna. These are not names we just created, they are the names of our Grandparents who lived through the war on the home front.

Although they are no longer alive we feel a closeness to them, when we adopt their names. "The past," the novelist LP Hartley famously wrote "is a foreign country". To us it is different, the past is about our family, country and history.

We use the name Home Front Friends as although we only guarantee our own appearance we are often joined by other friends who have a passion for the 1930s and 1940s, thus our name Home Front Friends.

Harry & Edna are well known in the current 1940s scene and have had their retro lifestyles featured in the
Sunday Times, Daily Mirror and Sunday Express.

The video clip features Edna been interviewed about our retro lifestyle.
